Abby + Lewis’s Scranton Wedding

JDK was more than thrilled when they found out that their own Director of Events at The Bond, Abby, was getting married. Abby and Lewis were excited to have Weddings by JDK take care of the catering, flowers, and design! Abby has always had an eye for the small details and JDK did not disappoint for this Scranton wedding.

The wedding specialists at JDK made sure that the couple wouldn’t have to lift a finger on their big day. The venues turned out absolutely beautiful with the help of JDK Senior Wedding Specialist, David Everett, and Event Specialist, Molly Unangst.

In addition to helping the newlyweds plan the Scranton wedding, JDK surprised the bride with a videographer for the day! Here, you can see the highlights of the day like the touching speeches made by family and friends.

CEREMONY

There was no question where Abby and Lewis were going to tie the knot. Abby grew up in Scranton, Pa., and she wanted to celebrate the next chapter of her life in her hometown.

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Lady of the Snows Church, based in Clarks Summit. Located near Scranton, it was the perfect spot for the thoughtful ceremony.

BAGPIPES AT COCKTAIL HOUR

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour at the Scranton Cultural Center. Bagpipers (accompanied by some tasty drinks) lead the guests into the reception room.

Scranton has a high Irish Catholic population, and so it is common to see bagpipers parading through local bars. Lewis was keen on having this fun representation of Scranton lead the guests from cocktail hour to the reception.

RECEPTION

Following cocktail hour, the reception was located in the Scranton Cultural Center downtown. This venue is a theater that they used as their reception space!

Since Abby and Lewis had been together for eight years, they wanted to make sure that this day was a celebration of love and friendship before anything else. The couple spent the entire night out on the dance floor doing just that. buy synthroid online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/synthroid.html no prescription

Being a Director of Events herself, Abby pays close attention to detail. When asked what her favorite part of the reception was, Abby was quick to say the wedding design. From the layout to the decor and flowers, everything JDK did was unique and personalized for the excited couple.

She especially loved the layout of the tables. The huge X shaped tables utilized space while having a unique table design.

Abby and Lewis’ Scranton WEDDING DESIGN

The colors of the wedding really left an impression of elegance with a fun twist. Abby wanted floral inspired tones which led David Everett and Erika Hegedus, the JDK Director of Innovation and Design, to create this special color palette.

The bride and groom’s table was a sight to see with lit up vintage-inspired light bulbs, terrariums, and a garland that outlined a simple white backdrop. The muted navy and charcoal shades meshed well with touches of gold, peach, coral, and greens.

Not only were the colors unique and fun, but so was the decor! JDK made sure to let the couple’s personality would shine through with fun bursts of color throughout the centerpieces that were accentuated with romantic floating candle lights.

A Taste of Scranton

Good food at a wedding is a must! JDK is no stranger to excellent food and Culinary Production Supervisor, Brian Nailor, had a clear vision that came to life from the hors-d’oeuvres to the entrees, to the cake! The menu incorporated local favorites like Scranton-style potato pancakes as well as other delicious foods like Beef Short Rib and Parmesan Risotto. buy tegretol online https://bethanyhealthcare.org/wp-content/languages/new/tegretol.html no prescription

Also, did we mention that it was a hanging cake? Yes, David Everett had taken it to the next level and hung their wedding cake from the ceiling! Creative Cakes in Clarks Summit, PA designed the beautiful cake, which was the centerpiece of the reception.

The theme of this Scranton wedding wasn’t only the love seen throughout the day, it was something more than that. Abby and Lewis’ Scranton wedding was a celebration of where they had come from and where they were going together. Most of all, their separate journeys became one and JDK was more than happy to support their special day.
